Fire Marshal's Office
The Fire Marshal office enforces all applicable life safety and fire protection requirements of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), State of Tennessee laws, and City of Paris Ordinances.
Plans Review
The Fire Marshal is responsible for city commercial plans review. Â Using the adopted Fire Code NFPA 1 Uniform Fire Code 2012 Edition, and the Life Safety Code 101 2012 Edition, all site plans and architectural drawings are reviewed for code compliance prior to construction.
Fire Inspection
The Fire Marshal is responsible for the inspection of new and existing buildings. Â During new construction, reviews are made on sprinklers, standpipes, fire pumps, fire alarms, emergency lighting, exit lights, fire extinguishers, occupant loads, exits, etc. Â Existing buildings receive annual inspections. Â All inspections are also subject to NFPA 1 Uniform Fire Code and Life Safety Code 101-2012 Editions.
Public Fire Education
The Fire Marshal is responsible for promoting fire safety, fire prevention, and improving standards of public safety by facilitating fire prevention program established throughout our community.
Fire Investigation
The Fire Marshal is responsible for investigating fires to determine the origin and cause of the fire to include arson.
