Operations/Firefighters

Paris Fire Department utilizes two shifts of firefighters to provide services to citizens 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.  Each shift has 11 career firefighters that respond to the various emergencies that occur.  Each shift has 1 Assistant Chief, 2 Captains and 2 Lieutenants.

Our department operates out of two stations to protect an area of approximately 12.99 square miles with a population of 10,126 people.

When the persons of each shift are not fighting fires, responding to motor vehicle accidents, fire alarms, or other emergencies, they perform other tasks such as testing fire hydrants, testing apparatus pumps and hoses and training.

Paris Fire Department checks over 775 hydrants annually and color codes them to allow fire crews to know how many gallons will be available for firefighting operations.

Paris Fire Department has an ISO rating of 4.
